Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, two of our rising stars, displayed their insatiable hunger for runs as they set up a series-sealing 99-run win for India. Gill's brilliant century (104 off 97 balls) and Iyer's timely ton under pressure (105 off 90 balls) were nothing short of spectacular! They shared a breathtaking 200-run partnership off just 164 balls, leaving fans in awe of their stroke-filled innings.
Suryakumar Yadav (72 not out off 37 balls) then added to the fireworks, unleashing absolute carnage to propel India to a whopping 399 for five, our highest total against Australia in ODIs. Skipper K.L. Rahul also contributed with 52 off 38 balls, showcasing the depth of our batting lineup.
Even rain couldn't dampen our spirits as Australia struggled to keep up with the revised target of 317 in 33 overs. They ended up with 217 all out in 28.2 overs, thanks in part to David Warner (53 off 39) and Sean Abbott (54 off 36), who put up a good fight.
This series win, achieved without some of our main players, is a testament to the depth of talent in the Indian squad. It's a massive boost as we look forward to the World Cup on home soil.
